Attention: We have replaced eduroam Server Certificates on September 29th 2025 - all information here!

This is how you connect your Android device with eduroam using the geteduroam App:

1

If eduroam is already set up on your device, please remove it first.
Instructions can be found here.

2

Install the app geteduroam from the Google Play Store on your Android device.

https://laps.uni-bayreuth.de/geteduroam-android or use the QR code on the right.

3

Open the geteduroam App you just installed and enter Uni Bayreuth into the search field up top ("Search for your organization").
As soon as Universität Bayreuth appears, tap on it.

4

Wait for the login dialog to appear and enter your Uni username + @uni-bayreuth.de as username (e.g. bt123456@uni-bayreuth.de) and the corrresponding password. After that, tap Log in.

5

The connection is now being established. If everything worked correctly, you will be asked whether you want to save the network. Tap Save.

6

Now close the App by tapping Close app.

7

After closing the app you will be asked if you want to allow eduroam, tap Allow.

8

That's it! If you used the @BayernWLAN WiFi you should remove it from your device so it won't automatically connect unintentionally.
